National Competition for Students “Judicial Conduct and Discipline”

The Office of the Independent Inspector, with the support of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, is launching a national competition for students entitled “Judicial Conduct and Discipline”.

The national competition is a simulation of disciplinary proceedings and the review of a complaint against a judge by an independent inspector.

The aim of the competition is to raise awareness about disciplinary proceedings against judges, enhance students’ theoretical knowledge, and improve their practical skills.

3rd, 4th-year law and international law faculty students or master’s students who are motivated, and interested in judicial ethics and disciplinary proceedings are invited to participate in the national competition.

The team wishing to participate must register through the electronic application form by November 13, 2021.

The selection of teams for registration will end on November 18.

Selected teams will be trained in disciplinary proceedings, after which participants will be sent a case and given time to prepare a written position. After the written comments, the teams play an oral simulation.

The final stage of the national competition will be held on December 11-12.
